Designed by swedish design student love hultén (lars
hansson), '4M' is a small wooden PC artifact and computer monitor. the
lightly steampunk aesthetic includes among its design influences HAL9000 of
stanley kubrick's '2001: a space odyssey', for what hultén describes as a
'semi-organic' look that bridges the boundary between technology and
nature.
The front panel of the CPU case is composed of walnut lumber,
featuring a ball handle joystick and brass window with magnifying lens that
looks in on the CPU cooler inside. likewise of walnut, the minimalist computer
monitor stand is constructed with brass nuts and bolts; adjustable via a
tilting mount and cord.
